Ed Sheeran is planning to buy a new suit after Lady Gaga mistook him for a waiter at the Grammy Awards.
The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker, who was nominated for three awards and also performed at the ceremony at Los Angeles’ Staples Centre last night Sunday February 8, 2015, has resolved to buy some new clothes after the ‘Applause’ singer thought he was a member of staff at the glitzy event.
In a tweet which has since been deleted, he wrote: ‘I love @ladygaga. Spoke to her earlier and she mistook me for a waiter. Gotta love the #GRAMMYs. #INeedANewSuit? Aha (sic)’.
While Gaga may not be familiar with Ed, she is a big fan of another British singer, Sam Smith, and was thrilled to see him scoop four Grammies last night.
She tweeted: ‘I’m so proud of my darling SAM SMITH for all his wins tonight! You deserve everything and more because you are YOU. I was honored to watch! (sic)’
Gaga herself picked up the prize for Traditional Pop Vocal Album for ‘Cheek to Cheek’, her collaboration with veteran crooner Tony Bennett, who she also performed with, and was stunned to win.
She tweeted: ‘We WON! @itstonybennett & I are so grateful to win this Grammy together! Thank you to our fans! Benedettos, lil’ monsters & @theGrammys’
‘I can’t believe it WOW this is my 6th Grammy!! I could never do this without amazing fans, always stay true to yourself I love you so much! (sic)’
