The third edition of the Battle of the Year Break dancing Championship went down on Sunday, August 14, 2011 hit the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in Akoka, Yaba.
The event which was anchored by Snatcha of the gospel rap duo, Roof Top MCs and Blaise, featured b-boy crews; Space Unlimited, C.I.A, New Reloaded, the 2009 winners 1 Unit, Body control, the 2008 winners All Stars , Abuja-based Slug Boyz and Code Red from Benin.
This year’s championship title was grabbed by the Lagos-based crew, Space Unlimited.
Space Unlimited B-boy crew represented Nigeria at the 2011 Battle of the Year Africa regional finals in Harare, Zimbabwe yesterday, Saturday, August 27, 2011 where they battled crews from South Africa, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Zimbabwe. And according to the organisers, the winning crew from the African regional finals will be representing Africa at the Battle of the Year World finals in Montpellier, France.
And special guests at the event were; Cool DJ Jimmy Jatt, Mr Raw Nwanne, Jahbless, Tha Suspect, Frenzy, Psalmurai, Zee and Modenine with DJ OZ, DJ Sose, DJ Queen Pin and DJ GEE Q on the wheels of steel.
