Two people were killed and at least 17 others wounded in a shooting early Monday morning at a nightclub in Fort Myers, in Florida.
Lt. Jim Mulligan of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that two people had been killed, and 17 had been wounded.
Police officers were called to Club Blu, a nightclub on Evans Avenue, 2.7 miles south of City Hall, around 12:30 a.m. Monday.
They came upon “several victims suffering from gunshot wounds” in the parking lot of the nightclub a police statement as said.
This is the second major shooting at a nightclub in Florida in recent months. On June 11, a gunman killed 50 people and injured many others at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida in the worst mass in US history.
