The Kanye West and JAY-Z tension continue.
Philly rapper, Meek Mill has dropped Championships, his first album since his release from prison in April.
The 19-track LP which features a collaboration between Meek and his former rival Drake also accommodates a JAY-Z aided track titled, What’s Free.
The said song which also houses a Rick Ross verse found the three questioning the idea of freedom in America (where black oppression and marginalization is predominant).
JAY-Z who had the last verse on the track took some time to address Kanye West and his continued support for Donald Trump.
“No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye/They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA/I ain’t one of these house n***as you bought/My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours/My spo—c’mon, man—my route better of course…”, Jay spat.
The relationship between JAY-Z and Kanye West has been strained in the past years. Although the two maintain that they are brothers and will find a way to resolve their differences in private, they have very much expressed that they have opposing political beliefs – Kanye (pro-Trump) and JAY-Z (anti-Trump).
