Kenyan star Nyong'o ousted the likes of Angela Bassett, Gabrielle Union, Kerry Washington and Oprah Winfrey to pick up her first BET award while British born Nigerian Ejiofor beat off stiff competition from Forest Whitaker, Idris Elba and Kevin Hart.
