Chicago born rapper, actor and poet, Common, believes world female tennis star Serena Williams is right to think that being frequently tested more than any other player in the sport is an act of discrimination towards her.
Serena had taken to Twitter to complain after she was visited unannounced for a random doping test saying, “And it’s that time of the day to get ‘randomly’ drug tested and only test Serena”. “Out of all the players, it’s been proven I’m the one getting tested the most.” “Discrimination? I think so. At least I’ll be keeping the sport clean.”
According to TMZ who caught up with the rapper at the airport, Common agrees with the 23 times Grand Slam winner stating that it’s obvious she’s trying to be brought down because of her race.
“If they’re testing her more than anyone else, it’s a reason for that,” Common echoed. “And there’s conscious and subconscious and I would say conscious is the fact that she’s a black woman and they’re looking for some reason to be able to take her down and discredit her … but she’s the queen!”
Common and Serena were once an item and the pair broke up after two years of dating in 2010
