AFA aims to promote the training and overall development of young professionals in the film industry who are striving to reach their full potential in an industry of limitless possibilities and always have the capacity for more.
With the Advisory Board of the AFA headed by renowned American actor, Danny Glover who has supported the AMAA legacy from inception, the academy saw to the establishment of the Africa Cinema Business Roundtable. For 2015, it is the 11 edition of Africa’s biggest movie awards and organisers describe it as the starting point of another decade of sustaining and heightening AMAA’s global critical acclaim.
The nominations event of AMAA this year will hold in April 2015 while the awards ceremony is billed to hold in June 2015. To act as president of the AMAA jury this year is Keith Shiri who has been an active member of the AMAA since its inception in 2004.
Recall that Peace stepped down as the CEO of AMAA at the 10th edition of the awards in Bayelsa last year and will now preside over the AFA.
