Organisers of the Queen Nigeria pageant have unveiled 18 contestants who will compete for the Queen Nigeria 2014 billed to hold on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the spokesperson and Chaperone of the pageant, Tokunbo Ifaturoti, the project is an initiative of Famford Enterprises Limited in collaboration with TV Enterprise (TVE) a subsidiary of NTA.
Unlike most beauty pageants, organsiers say Queen Nigeria is culturally inclined with elements meant to enhance the restoration of the lost values in the Nigerian woman and having carried out screenings across major states in Nigeria, the organisers have selected the 18 contestants who will vie for the crown at the 2014 edition of the Queen Nigeria pageant tagged ‘Beyond Beauty’.
The contestants, who are referred to as Queens are: Obianuju Atueyi (Lagos), Brownson Alice Okon (Niger), Tundun Ajidahun (Osun), Kershima Annie Mnena (Benue), Awosemo Busola (Oyo), Sadiq Olive (Kaduna), Prisca Solomon (Plateau), Tarere Obaigbo (Bayelsa), Itseuwa Ebiosiogwe (Abuja), Berepele Tamuno Dainty (Rivers), Kessy Isong (Akwa Ibom), Uche Anyanwu (Imo), Onyekwelu Olivia (Edo), Diamond Okoh (Ebonyi), Lolita Oyibo Onome (Delta), Chidimma Oti Mary Ann (Abia), Blessing Edidiong (Cross River) and Vivian Nnamani (Enugu).
Boot Camp for the selected contestants according to the organizers will entail Talent Competition, Cooking Competition in a traditional setting to be boosted by traditional and contemporary dance sessions, empowerment workshops, community visits which will see the girls carry out hands-on duties in the community such as environmental sanitation initiatives and other activities geared towards grooming contestants on confidence building.
Tokubo added that the emerging winner to be known as Queen Nigeria, will be an ambassador and lead the way by encouraging both women and men to be inspired, aspire and maximize their ability to make a difference in their communities and internationally, especially on the African Continent.
The winner of Queen Nigeria 2014 will walk home with a brand new Renault Logan, N1.5 million cash, an ambassadorial role and a chance to represent Nigeria at international events among other fantastic prizes.
CEO of Famford Enterprises Limited, Segun Famodimu added that contestants would be judged through SMS voting by the public while the final process is the combination of etiquette, composure and beauty that will be exhibited and decided upon by the panel of judges.
