You are about to watch a trailer* of a movie you will never see. This is unless you live to be well into triple digits.
Inspired by the 100-year journey it takes for every bottle of Louis XIII Cognac to become one of the most luxurious spirits in the world, this original production ‘100 Years’ is directed by Robert Rodriguez and stars John Malkovich.
The futuristic film paints a picture of what planet Earth would look like a hundred years from now.
*Scratch that.
You are about to watch three trailers of a movie you will never see. The trailers may or may not have anything to do with the movie. No one has actually seen the movie, you see.
The first trailer imagines 2115 Earth being overrun by nature with plants and wild animals reigning supreme.
In the second trailer, it is technology that is doing the overrunning, with the world ultra-urbanized and technologically advanced.
The third trailer presents a world where humanoid robots have taken over and humans are on the run.
To ensure that no one gets to see the movie until its official première on November 18, 2115, the film will be placed in a safe that will open automatically about 100 years from now.
The custom made safe, constructed by renowned safe makers Fichet-Bauche and featuring bullet proof glass and a revolutionary timer, is the first luxury safe in the world that cannot be opened with a code or a key. Rather, the safe will automatically open, regardless of access to power, on November 18, 2115.
But not to worry, some people will eventually get to see the movie. One thousand guests from around the world have received exclusive invitations to give to their descendants to attend the premiere of the movie at the House of Louis XIII in Cognac, France. That is if the aliens have not invaded yet.
