The Nigerian Idol show is gradually heating up as the final 12 contestants have now almost been selected.
Three more contestants from the third group – Diwari Peterside, A.Y.O and Mecinda have been chosen from Group 3 after a tension-filled announcement was made by show host IllRhymes.
‘They all deserve to make it to the final stage, if you ask me’, one of the show’s judges Yinka Davies said.
The lucky three will now join the other six finalists – Giami Lynda, Deborah Ibinabo Romeo, Adum Oboni Honey, Najite El-David, Nneka Njoku and Ugwuadu Chinedu.
So the quest to find three more contestants continues but there’s a twist to it – the judges have been allowed to pick two wildcards while viewers can choose one. So will it be?

Etisalat is really doing a great job with the nigerian idol
it is a shame most people don’t know what good music is. Diwari is the boom. She sang a vintage classic dat is not common and she performed it better than the original singer. Don’t worry diwari u are getting the prize
I am so disappointed, is because these folks have got some foreign touch.
When are we going to appreciate what we have? because if we do not celebrate ourselves.. the world won,t….
Mercy and Najite are great singers and performers. Was really touched by their tribute performance of whitney’s songs. Mercy especially gave me goose bumps with ” I look to u” and i think najite’s got a great voice for music. I am however not too happy with the Live band selected for the show, the band has consistently messed some of the contestants up during their stage performance, funnily the judges are always blaming the mix up on the contestants when they shd be addressing the band instead. Mercy & Najite, u guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
