Sarkodie boycotted the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, which took place on April 11, 2015 as a result of his row with the organisers of the event, Charter House.
Rather, he decided to attend a beach party organised by his fellow Ghanaian artiste, Shatta Wale.
The ‘Adonai’ rapper, who was among stars guests expected to grace the awards, had a total of 11 nominations but decided to stay clear of the event after his social media fight with the organisers.
They had allegedly failed to meet up with his required fee to perform at the gig and were accused trying to play smart on him by featuring him on commercials as one of the headliners.
Meanwhile, out of the 11 nominations which he got, Sarkodie only won three – Best ‘Collaboration of The Year’ – Adonai – S feat. Castro, Hip-life/Hip-hop Artiste Of The Year and Vodafone Song Of The Year, which was all received by his manager, Sammy Forson.
