The late Nigerian football legend, Stephen Keshi would have turned 56-years-old today had he not died on June 7, 2016, after suffering a cardiac arrest. To celebrate his posthumous birthday, Google is honouring the legend of Nigerian football, his memories and legacies with their famous doodle.Google said about the football legend, “Keshi is one of only two men to win the Africa Cup of Nations as both a player and a manager, a testament to his wit, talent, and love for the sport.
The doodle is a creative fun way Google writes its name on its website, used in celebrating famous people in various fields who have had great achievements during their lifetime which has included late Nigerian Writer, Chinua Achebe.
Today’s doodle will be viewed in every African country. It shows the unparalleled achievements of Stephen Keshi, who first won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations as a player and then as a coach in 2013.
