Premier League club Leicester City have confirmed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi for about £15m, subject to a work permit.
The 20-year-old, who signed from Genk in Belgium, will sign a five-and-a-half-year deal.
Leicester’s website confirmed that the Premier League champions have agreed personal terms with the Nigerian international and that Ndidi has already had a medical.
‘Ndidi is expected to complete the formalities of his move to Leicester City later this week,’ the club stated.
Ndidi plays primarily as a defensive midfielder but can also play in defence. He was signed ostensibly a replacement for combative midfielder N’Golo Kante, who moved to Chelsea in the summer
