The incident, which occurred around 4pm on today, October 8, 2014, has continued to generate reactions and comments across social media platforms.
To own a blog, one needs to have a Google account ‘Blogspot’ which is one of the products and services provided by global tech giant, Google. As only 3 major things could have led to the bog being deleted, here are the possible situations.
According to Google: ‘If you can’t find your blog or are seeing an error page, we’re here to help. There are several common reasons for a blog disappearing.’
Policy or Terms of Service violation
Possible reason: It’s possible that your blog was found to have violated Blogger’s policies or our terms of Service
Accidental deletion
Possible reason: Double check that you or a team member didn’t delete your blog by accident.
Custom domain settings
Possible reason: Blogs that are published with a custom domain need to have correct DNS settings in order to appear online. If you’ve reached this help article from a Blogger error page, then your issue is not related to your custom domain. If you’ve reached a generic 404 page, however, you should double check your custom domain settings.
However, of all of the privacy policies stated by Google as exemplified above, the first – policy or terms of service violation – is the reason for the deletion of Linda’s blog.
