
Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has been named one of Africa’s ‘Top 50 trailblazers’ by The Africa Report magazine. According to the Paris-based magazine, the list contains people who are ‘pioneers who will lead Africans to the Africa of tomorrow.’
Yvonne was chosen because of her role in the Dumsor protest. ‘In a country where most celebrities avoid straddling the line between showbiz and politics, the Ghanaian actress most recently caught the attention of the public and political elite when she co-launched a protest march – with celeb colleagues Lydia Forson and Sarkodie – against the power crisis in the country.’
Other famous Africans put in the spotlight by the magazine include Ivorian football legend, Didier Drogba; South African politician, Julius Malema and Aliko Dangote.
