Tottenham left back Assou–Ekotto headbutted his Cameroon team mate Benjamin Moukandjo in the final moments of their defeat to Croatia.
The second group stage match, played on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, saw the left back lash out in the closing stages of Cameroon’s 4-0 defeat. Assou-Ekotto’s anger continued after the final whistle and Cameroon captain, Samuel Eto’o was forced to calm his nerves.
Before that incident, Cameroon midfielder Alex Song was shown a red card after he elbowed Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic in the first half of the game.
