Since the end of the world cup, we can say there hasn’t been much to talk about on twitter Nigeria, of course except for those who spend their whole time monitoring SuB Delivery Zone to nose into other people’s life which is none of their business, there is always something to argue about there.
But on this boring Saturday, some Nigerian bank reasons best known to them decided to ‘Fight Dirty’ on Twitter and trust Nigerians, we were here for all of it. It was Sterling Bank who started it all and before we knew it, bants and clapbacks began to fly in from all sides as some other banks felt ‘attacked’ by the jab from Sterling Bank.
In all, it was exciting to watch and see how creative the banks explored the use of social media to gain some level of positive visibility right? It’s not every time we want to see numbers. The use of this kind of satirist antics to get social media engagement became popularised by rapper and songwriter F. Shaw who is the former handler of the EFCC twitter account.
