Ivory Coast and former Swansea striker, Wilfried Bony has emerged the most expensive African player ever after completing his move to Manchester City.
The football star agreed a 4 and a half year deal worth £25million with another £3m in add-on fees, today, January 14, 2015.
With the deal, he has surpassed former holder, Michael Essien whose transfer in 2005 from Lyon to Chelsea, cost £24.4m.
Essien is followed by Yaya Toure’s move from Barcelona to Manchester City in 2010 which cost £24m and Didier Drogba‘s move from Marseille to Chelsea in 2004 which also cost £24m.
According to reports, Wilfried Bony who will wear the number 14 jersey for the club and will earn £100,000 a week.
