The six- time Olympic champion who once opted to retire in 2016 made the announcement after winning commonwealth gold in the 4×100 metres relay in Glasgow, London last week.
‘I’ve always said that after Rio I will retire, ‘But they keep saying I should go on to 2017 so I think I might just do that.
‘I think that will be my last championships. I’m just happy I’ve done what I wanted to do in the sport’ he added
Bolt remains the first man ever to win six Olympic gold medals in sprinting, and an eight-time World champion.
