The 39-year old Unbroken director – was reportedly ‘fascinated’ to hear the film’s lead actor, Jack O’Connell, who hails from Derby in east England, speaking in his county’s dialect, the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper reports.
One of the cast members shared: ‘In between takes she was fascinated to listen to Jack chatting away in what to her may as well have been a foreign language.
‘There’s no doubt she picked up a few useful new phrases from him.’ Jack, though, is believed to have gotten fed up by the constant attention placed on his accent.
The cast member continued: ‘Jack is a wonderful guy. But even though he’d bite his tongue, you could tell he was p***ed off when folks mimicked his way of speaking or commented on how weird it was.’
