Today, Janauary 8, 2015 is the day the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will crown Africa’s Best Footballer for 2014.
The player chosen will be deemed to have contributed immensely to the world of football over the last 12 months especially from the African perspective.
However, the big question is: Who will be sitting comfortably on the throne with the final three nominees tonight?
The long list of African players around the world was pruned down to a list of 5 before arriving at the final 3 vying for the awards tonight: Super Eagles of Nigeria captain and goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama of Lille OSC; Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who plays for Borussia Dortmund and the current holder of the award, Cote D’Ivoire’s Yaya Toure who plays for Manchester City.
As selected by head coaches, technical directors of the various national associations the winner will be announced tonight at the Glo-CAF Awards which will hold at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
