Ruggedman is one of the best to ever do rap in Nigeria. Seriously.
But since he made his impression in the rap game back in the early 2000s, it has been a struggle for the rapper to return to his past glory.
The versatile rapper, who broke new grounds with the art of punchlines and metaphors, ironically found it difficult to evolve with time and sound in today’s hip hop.
We were wondering what happened to his career after a great performance at Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless concert in Lagos last weekend.

The hall was silent as the audience paid rapt attention to his emotive bars when he performed a tribute to late friend and singer Nomoreloss.
He left fans breathless when he sang ‘Baraje’ before sharing the stage with M.I Abaga – that is more than one decade of Nigerian hip hop together on one stage.
That was the Ruggedman we loved, the Ruggedman that had amazing collaborations with 9ice, M.I and 2face. Not the one that’s paying more attention to fashion, not the one that featured Olamide on ‘Seyi Shay’.
Not even the one that collaborated with Wande Coal on ‘Agidi’!
