West Ham United has declared Senegal midfielder, Cheikhou Kouyate missing after Senegal’s elimination from the ongoing 2015 African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
Following the elimination of Senegal from the AFCON tournament on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, his coach at the club, Sam Allardyce said the club has had difficulties reaching the player who is due back in England from the time his country’s participation in the tournament ended.
In what is yet another case of club versus country, the coach said: ‘We’ve had trouble finding him, ‘If you speak to all Premier League managers if they’re honest they will tell you the same thing.’
The former Bolton coach also said he remains hopeful the midfielder will make it back soon so as to be in the frame for their premier league clash against Liverpool.
‘He should be back today (Thursday, January 29, 2015) after we’ve chased him down over the last 48 hours. He could play against Liverpool,’ Allardyce said.
