Since Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele clocked 39 on August 24, what has made for more headline-grabbing news is her alleged secret marriage to rumoured beau, Abdul-Rashid Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz.
Though efforts by NET to get the couple to comment on the development have so far proved abortive, there are suggestions alluding to its possibility.
First, there was JJC wishing Funke a happy birthday with ‘FAB’ (an acronym which could easily translate to Funke Akindele-Bello), then amid the actress flaunting what appears to be a wedding ring, are photos from a supposed secret wedding leaked by one of JJC’s children.
Recently, some guests at Love Lagos Weekend event hosted by the Lagos State government in London, revealed that the actress introduced herself as ‘Olufunke Akindele Bello’.
If this is true, it can be said that Funke has indeed turned around what was a heartbreaking, embarrassing experience to find happiness again. An experience made even more humiliating by the ‘you are the greatest mistake I’ve made in recent time’ statement by her ex-husband, Kehinde ‘Almaroof’ Oloyede.
Since the split in 2013, Funke has moved on to attain enviable heights in the entertainment industry, further climbing a ladder of success to becoming a role model to aspiring youngsters.
Choosing to make her affairs secret this time can be considered a wise move for the actress, after her lavish wedding ceremony in 2012.
In what is a similar circumstance to her marriage to Kehinde four years ago (having to contend with her husband’s children and their mother), Funke’s previous experience will come in handy, knowing what is required in maintaining a drama-free marriage.
Hopefully, Funke has finally found the true love that has eluded her, and she can hold on to it for forever.
