He said “first, they need to create an enabling environment for this industry to thrive. Secondly, they need to consciously, intentionally focus on building the industry. Treat it like you are importing rice. You ban all foreign content, you know, make it difficult for foreign content to come in so your local content can grow.”
He then asked that the government needs to support the entertainment industry so it can grow. He talked about the systems put in place that frustrates the growth of the industry. He added that the industry must be treated like rice and other products that are home grown. He said, “this is the greatest product we can ever have, entertainment, the greatest, this country of 200 million people can ever have.”
The lawmaker advised that Nigerians should keep praying for government’s help. He said that though the government can’t be asked to do everything they can help create a suitable environment so people can invest and make returns.
