
A photograph of late Super Eagles striker, Rashidi Yekini being honoured by Portuguese club, Vitoria Sertubal which he played for in the 90s has gone viral.
Trust Nigerian fans, they reacted by slamming the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for not deeming it fit to remember the goal banger who died a little over 3 years ago while he is being celebrated in far away Portugal.
In its defense, NFF via it’s verified Twitter account has re-posted a tweet through which the body remembered Yekini on the anniversary pf his death on May 4, 2015, writing: ‘We can’t forget the date’.
Rashidi Yekini died in May 4, 2012 in controversial circumstances. He enjoyed his best spell in Europe at Vitoria Setubal in Portugal where he scored 90 goals in 108 appearances for the modest Portuguese club between 1990 and 1994.
