One of Nigeria’s most respected music producers, Cobhams Asuquo recently collaborated with drumming band, Èkó Samba.
It’s their first ever studio session as they prepare for the 2016 Calabar Carnival.
Nigeria’s first ever Brazilian style Samba School, Èkó Samba participated in Lagos Carnival 2015.

The group of drummers also performed at the 2014 Copa Lagos Beach Soccer tournament, and in May this year they visited Abeokuta in Ogun State for the first ever appearance at Drums Festival in Nigeria.
Èkó Samba Community is a non-profit group based in Satellite Town, Lagos, which aims to engage and inspire young people through creative arts, namely Brazilian Samba drumming.
In October, the group’s founder founder, Seyi Ajeigbe – a Nigerian-British musician – was featured on CNN International’s African Voices.
