Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi has become the all-time Champions league leading scorer after drawing level with former Real Madrid legend, Raul Gonzalez two weeks ago.
The Argentina superstar achieved the landmark on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 by scoring a hat trick in the 4 – 0 win against APOEL Nicosia.
Messi scored in the 72nd, 73rd and 74th to go 4 goals clear from his arch rival, Cristiano Ronaldo who has 70 goals to his name.
The 4-time World Player of the Year winner, who started as a youth player with Barcelona in 2000, has won six La Liga titles and three Champions League titles with the club and broken several records in his glittering career.
Over the weekend, in a match played against Seville on November 22, he became the all-time leading scorer in the Spanish league.
