Embarrassing, humiliating and downright shameful – the two-minute scenario Nigerians and the whole world watched on live TV when the Lagos State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Obafaiye Shem could not mention the organizations official website.
Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily,Shem when asked what the website was simply said ‘www.nscdc.’
FYI the correct url to the NSCDC is ‘www.nscdc.gov.ng‘.

This is absolutely disgusting and utterly shameful..This is one of the eggheads that stay in positions of power in Nigeria. Some of our past leaders will be weeping in their graves…May the selfish idiots who turned Nigeria into this not have peace in life and in death….

His entire certificate shld be re-visited nd thrown away!! His Resignation shld nd Must be demanded….. i quite agree with you….. however, this guy was called for an interview bordering on his agency after an arrest was made concerning the operation of an illegal website!!! even if he didnt know it before the interview, he sud have known the address prior to the interview…. its almost an impossible question to miss… there is no justification whatsoever…… and i am very positive they have IT GUYS WHO MUST HAVE BEEN INVITED TO COMMANDANT SHEM’S OFFICE TO report the illegal website… he must have seen it and identified the difference……….

I feel that he may have been good at fighting vandals, criminals and other miscreants, which is his KPI. That he goofed on the issue of web site should be pardoned on the grounds of what he has achieved on the issue of pipeline vandalisation. It is only the NSCDC that has taken the fight to them. What was the police able to accomplish before now on this worrisome issue. They were alleged to be neck deep in it. People of Nigeria, the grammar may be weak, but the accomplishment of this guy and his oga at the top speak volumes. Can we for the sake of this please allow this guy be! All the sleek grammar has not led us anywhere pls!
