Nollywood actress, Ufuoma Ejenobor, has disclosed that she never had the passion for Nollywood in the past, revealing that she was more engrossed with watching foreign films.
According to the actress, after winning the Miss Congeniality at the Miss Commonwealth Beauty Pageant, and having represented Nigeria at the Miss Earth 2004 International beauty pageant in the Philippines, she met the renowned Nigerian filmmaker, Zeb Ejiro, who persuaded her to go into acting.
In a recent interview with Punch, Ufuoma disclosed that the incessant university strikes, while she was still a student forced her into acting.
‘That was in 2002. By 2003, I was in my 3rd year and as a French major student, I spent the year at the French Village in Badagry, Lagos. By 2004, I had finished my 3rd year but was unable to start my 4th year as there had been a strike in Unilag and other 300 level students were yet to finish their 3rd university year. I was already modelling at the time. I needed to be fully engaged. I remembered Zeb. I dug out his card and called. He picked,’ she said.
Ufuoma said it was until after that she went for auditions and eventually got her first role in a Nollywood movie.
