A video of Senator Elisha Abbo hitting a woman in a sex toy shop surfaced on the internet two days ago and the reactions have been mostly similar. Abike Dabiri who is one of the most respected women in Nigeria made a comment about the issue that Twitter cannot stand.
To think that this PDP guy .was said to have “defeated”one of our most respected female parliamentarians, Senator Binta Masi Garba. The Senate must not protect him. He should be charged . The footage is enough evidence . He deserves to be in Prison https://t.co/6i944p55sj

She said on her twitter that “To think that this PDP guy .was said to have “defeated” one of our most respected female parliamentarians, Senator Binta Masi Garba. The Senate must not protect him. He should be charged. The footage is enough evidence. He deserves to be in Prison”.
The senator in question has been dragged on every social media possible for his behaviour. People have been calling for his resignation or that the Senate should discipline him. A lot of people have even called for his immediate arrest.
The problem Twitter seems to have with Abike’s point of view is not that he deserves to be punished. The issue they are contending with is that she brought in ‘party’ to the issue. The general consensus seems to be that the only reason why she made that comment is that the Senator is a PDP member.
As far as people are concerned, she is not looking at the issue from a human-interest angle but how it benefits her party, APC. Twitter users have not been kind in the way they have expressed their opinions and a lot of people have declared that they don’t trust Abike anymore.
Some of the more intense and candid opinions we have seen are:
Pls u guys should stop the over flogging the stupidity of the senator…he did wrong….most of you disnt say a word when gandollar video tape was released….people like abike dabiri who has become twitter activist dodnt say a word…abeg make una stop d selective activism

Abike Dabiri has now consistently shown she is a terrible person. This is probably the last time her name will appear on my TL.

Shamefully, Abike Dabiri thinks this issue of Senator Abbo assaulting a nursing mother in a sex toy shop is APC Vs PDP thing. These people don't care about the girl, (just like they don't care about us) but themselves! Abike deep your head in shame! ???????? pic.twitter.com/3h0AKJt9Cr

Abike's worry is not that a woman was assaulted. It is that the guy who assaulted her defeated her party member to win a Senate seat. https://t.co/Dlhfg7ktvZ

Madam @abikedabiri do you mean to say the @PoliceNG should only act because Elisha is a senator from PDP, or because he defeated your APC candidate? Abike you're educated, did you jettison your education for partisan politics, politics of hate, malice and mischief. What a low!
