Following years of rumours, speculations and discussions, Hollywood actors, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, have officially begun work on the third instalment of their nostalgic ‘Bad Boys’ film.
Smith hinted production has started on the long-awaited follow-up to 2003’s Bad Boys II after he went on Instagram to share the good news, posting a picture of a stack of scripts labelled ‘Bad Boys For Lif3’ with the caption “Day 1, I’ll keep you posted.”
Co-star, Lawrence, also confirmed Smith’s announcement by posting a throwback photo of the Bad Boys leading men on Instagram with the “Let’s get to work! #teammartymar #badboysforlife #hustlehard.”
Bad Boys For Lif3 is currently scheduled to premiere on January 17, 2020, twenty-five years after the first part dropped in 1995. It became an instant hit and helped launch the career of director Michael Bay. Smith, Lawrence and Bay would reunite eight years later for the sequel, Bad Boys II, which became an even bigger hit at the box office.
Bay, however, will not return as director chair. Instead, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will take over directorial duties. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the first two films, returns as producer.
