Ace filmmaker and Nollywood veteran producer, Tunde Kelani is set to premiere another of his works, Yeepa at the Ake Arts and Book Festival which starts today, Tuesday, November 18, 2014 it Abeokuta, Ogun State.
An adaptation of Prof. Femi Osofisan’s classic play, Yeepa is a filmed play featuring a hybrid of traditional theatre artistes, trained actors and a handful of Nollywood stars.
It depicts the life of Isola (Bayo Bankole), a rascally and unreliable man who is mistaken for the formidable Public Complaints Commissioner, Solarin, by the corrupt officials of the Local Government Council.
His presence causes anxiety and panic among the officials, and they make desperate efforts to out-do one another, so as to pacify the visitor.
The premiere event is scheduled to hold at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta.
