NET has confirmed that elderly and renowned actor, Adebayo Faleti, is alive and well.
Following reports on social media and blogs on Monday that Faleti had been declared dead, NET made moves to speak with figures in the Yoruba section of Nollywood and after some unanswered calls, we got words back from former ANTP actor and frontline actor, Jide Kosoko.
According to him, ‘Baba Faleti is actually alive and well, he is not dead as we speak and we are not thinking of death concerning him.’
Speaking further, Kosoko said they actually recorded a death in the acting circles but that rather than Baba Faleti, another respected actor and culture activist, Sopo Kosemaani popularly known as Alagba Kosemaani is the recently-diseased figure.
Kosoko said the man is a former chairman of Oyo State Council for Arts and Culture.
Also reacting to the reports, ace cinematographer, Tunde Kelani, went on facebook and Twitter to post a message: ‘Pls disregard the false rumors about Chief Adebayo Faleti’s death. Authoritative – Baba Faleti is alive & well – I spoke to him minutes ago!’
