
On Sunday, October 9, 2016, Wizkid‘s in-law, Seun Rowland Awoniyi died of cancer in the Unites States.
The father of two was married to Wizkid’s elder sister, Yetunde Balogun.
Since news of his death was made public, his close friends and family members are all taking to social media to mourn him.

I remember you thought me how to play table soccer, table tennis. I remember we go fishing with hook/eye and a net, afterwards we got beaten by both parent. I remember hunting for lizard at the uncompleted building with you.
I remember going to Olive primary school to play football with you and friends. Of course I remember when we used to dance to MC hammer. I vividly remember us going to church DEC 31st wearing jeans inside out (ABC style) though so many people was against us but I followed your style.
I remember when u started a family and when I did , plus what u said to me ‘NA MY BOY GO MARRY UR DAUGHTER. I remember when we do deals together ! Damn those days we made money and turned up together.
I remember we celebrate birthdays together, you are DEC 24th and I am DEC 26th, best birthday in the house.

We argue a lot about football like enemies. I cry this day Seun Rowland Awoniyi, why you, you are too good to be dead right now. This is a black day for me and I will never ever forget about you bro. My mentor, my ride or die brova! You will forever be in my heart and will tell my daughter a lot about you. God will grant you eternal rest and give your wife and children happiness.

Your last message on social media gave us hopes you would get up and bounce back to the bubbly, cheerful and ever playful Seun I have always Known.
