Some of the best events are simple, quick but fun! And that’s what the Tinsel 1000 event felt like!
This week’s Ten 10s comes from what I heard, saw and did at the event!
Enjoy…
10. The event held at Eko Hotel and Suites; the hall looked great (from what I saw when the lights came on) and there was loads to drink but where was the food??? Ah well, the cupcakes from ‘Cookie Jar’ were lovely!!!
9. IK is the king of improv, a very good host. I can see why MNET loves him!
8. Tinsel’s ‘Shalewa‘ (Tomi Odunsi) opened the show with her performance of the new single, ‘I wan blow‘. Little Known Fact: Tomi Odunsi started out as a singer but the role of ‘Shalewa’ made her popular as an actress. Here’s hoping you all give her a shot as an artiste too!
7. The Tinsel cast looked very glam and happy. They obviously couldn’t bring everyone on the stage but after the event, we went round taking pictures with as many as we could!

6. Speaking of pictures! I took one with Gbenro Ajibade… Or at least, his cardboard cut-out.
5. I also took a picture with everyone’s favourite character, ‘Chuks‘.
4. Tinsel has a theme song, ‘Fire and Ice‘ and we heard it live. Praiz sang it and also his cover of ‘Stay‘ and ‘Rich and Famous‘. Loved it!
3. Also loved Efya‘s performance. All she needed, was a microphone, the mic stand and lights! She performed ‘Life’.
2. I was a bit worried for Seyi Shay since she was coming up after Efya’s standing ovation-deserving-but-hey-its-always-a-tough-Naija-crowd-so-no-dice performance but glad to say, she held her own. She had two male back up dancers and introduced an ‘Irawo‘ dance to us.
1. It always amuses me how people will never truly support an artiste when he performs then they’ll go home and talk about how much they loved it. What’s wrong with screaming, standing and so on when there’s a really good show on? We glam up to keep it in ba? Well rebels have more fun! I’ll always be the girl in the corner standing and clapping when there’s a great performance!
A glamorous night, and o, a quick shout out to Tee Threads for my lovely silver dress!
