Novelist, Screenwriter and all-round Storyteller, Tomilola Coco Adeyemo has released her latest blockbuster novel, That ‘99 Love to wild excitement and acceptance by teeming fans of romance fiction.

Adeyemo, a multiple bestselling romance fiction author is not a newcomer to telling Nigerian stories with fiercely feminist and realistic themes.
An experienced writer whose screenwriting credits include MTV Shuga Naija, Mnet’s Forbidden and Hush, weaving real-life issues into exciting story worlds and constantly fascinating characters is not an unfamiliar path for her.

“That ‘99 Love was borne out of the need to see more realistic happenings and situations in the romance genre in Nigeria especially one that infuses strong female friendships, sexual harassment and more prevalent social issues,” says Adeyemo.
Set in the year 1999 within the vast beautiful walls of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, That ‘99 Love follows its main characters – a guy from a privileged background and a girl from a humble background – whose lives are interwoven and changed by the ongoing happenings on campus and their collective responses to it.
The need for stories like That ‘99 Love which touches on subjects surprisingly considered as sensitive in modern-day Nigeria compelled the author to pen this intriguing love story, which is woven through literature, using an Ola Rotimi classic and old Nollywood, with references to the works of Amaka Igwe.
That ‘99 Love is currently a bestseller on Pan African platform, Okadabooks. It is available exclusively on Okadabooks for the month of June [Click here for a free preview and here for the full book] and will be available on other platforms; Kobo (international) and Litireso come July 2020.
