US actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are set to divorce after five years of marriage.
The news was confirmed by Holme’s lawyer Jonathan Wolfe who first disclosed the news to People Magazine.
‘This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest’, Wolfe disclosed.
TMZ reports that Holmes is the one who filed for divorce citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ and is asking for sole custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri.
Cruise’s reps have also confirmed the news when they issued statement on Friday. ‘Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy’, the statement released via Gossip Cop read.
The couple who started dating in 2005 got engaged in Paris and married in November 2006. Suri is their only child.

I think it’s sad. I especially like that couple. They should be allowed their privacy if they so wish if.
