Three things God had taught me about the marriage institution in the order of importance. Can you answer these questions confidently?
- Are you growing in your faith in the Lord? Does the (intending) couple have a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? He is the Chosen Cornerstone to build upon
- Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?
Does the (intending) couple share a common vision about their marriage and how their home should be?
It’s like having two pilots with different destination plans in a plane’s cockpit when vision conflicts.
- Does the (intending) couple love each other enough to reject other beautiful persons? There will be days when for a moment you’ll see the other person’s weakness and vulnerability, will you consider options or alternatives or seek to help the person get strength over the weakness? A commitment to 1 & 2 will help your resolve in 3.
Marriage will not work if taken in reversed order. Being married puts you in the devil’s cross hairs, you must be well prepared.

See, we have no strength in ourselves against all the forces and powers that assail us. The devil hates the marriage institution passionately.
