Hip-Hop music lovers in Nigeria will be glad to know a new platform promoting the genre will be debuting this April.
Cognac brand, Hennessy in partnership with urban radio station The Beat FM 99.9 have announced the launch of ‘The VS Class’, a new hip hop show, ‘created to discover and promote talented MCs in the Nigerian entertainment scene’.
The show according to organizers will debut on April 10, 2014 and deal with various Hip-Hop conversations including the celebration of Hip-Hop, both in the local and international entertainment industries.
The main bite of the show however will be selecting the next Modenine or Jay Z among aspiring rap contenders.
‘Apart from having conversations on the growth of Hip Hop in the Nigerian entertainment scene, we are also searching to promote young rappers by giving them a platform where they can develop their talents to the maximum’, OAP and Programmes Director at the Beat FM, Olisa Adibua says.
The VS Class will feature three episodes in 2014 to begin with and have well known MCs and lyricists and DJs in the Nigerian music industry as guests on the show.
