When you steal from a disabled person and get caught by a tattoo artist, you can be sure it’s one memory you will never forget.
That’s the case for this Brazilian teenager who was caught after allegedly trying to steal a bicycle from a man without a leg in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
The boy was apprehended by two men, Maycon Wesley, and his friend, Ronildo Moreira de Araujo, with Wesley turning out to be a tattoo artist.
And as punishment, they decided to ink the teenager with the inscription on his forehead which is Portuguese for ‘I am a thief and a loser.’

Police have arrested the two men who apprehended the teenager and charged them with torture.
In Brazil, torture is considered a heinous crime, and perpetrators cannot be released on bail.
According to local media, they told authorities their intention was to teach the boy and all thieves a lesson.
The teenager’s family however said their boy was not trying to steal the bicycle but was drunk and only grabbed the bike to steady himself.
‘It was like if my son didn’t have a family,’ his mother told local media, ‘I think that this is what the people who did this were thinking, that he didn’t have anyone and that nothing would happen to them.’
A family lawyer stated, ‘Many people shared the image of him and made judgments without knowing the facts. He did not do anything that was said and spread on the internet.’
As for the boy, he said, ‘The tattoo can be removed, but the scars will remain in my mind.’
Volunteers have reportedly created an Internet fundraising page to help pay for the tattoo removal.
