The Super Eagles of Nigeria eventually lived up to expectations this evening in the city of Calabar, venue for the much anticipated Nation Cup qualifier, as they thrashed the Lone Stars of Liberia 6 goals to 1, to qualify for the 2013 African Cup of Nation to be hosted by South Africa.
Stephen Keshi’s boys were able to clear all doubts about another disappointing outing, even though the first half ended in a 2-2 tie, raising fear that we may just as well suffer last year’s fate of not making the African Cup of Nations.
But goals from Chelsea stars, Victor Moses and Mikel Obi, including Efe Ambrose, Ahmed Musa and Ikechukwu Uche was more than enough to see us through to the finals of the 2013 AFCON in Sounth Africa.
With a total six goals, the Super Eagles were impressive in their emphatic win, thus sending a strong indication of coach Keshi’s resolve to produce a winning Super Eagle team.
Super Eagles wallop Liberia 6-1 to qualify for 2013 African Cup of Nations!
