It seems the fashion world has gone gaga over shoes this season. Colors, crazy designs and did I say colors? are all the rave right now. I’ve noticed 3 particular hot shoe trends for Summer 2012, so check them out below and decide which appeal most to you. If all do, may your shoe closet be filled to the brim with lovely options. And remember: a woman can never own too many pairs of shoes.
Wedges
Wedges are all the rage right now, and, as a bonus, they go really well with just about any outfit. Keep things ultra casual by combining them with colored denim jeans and a chic top; a flirty summer dress (geometric, animal and vintage floral prints are all trending); or cropped shorts and a printed tee. By earthy, I’m referring to natural colors and textures. Think tans, beiges, browns and creams in terms of hue, and straw, quality cork, etc. for materials.
Chunky Heels
Stilettos are out, thicker heels are in!. This is great news for us, ladies, because when it comes to pumps, there are two categories: high, and sky high. Not only do thick heels look pretty cool, but if you’re not a full fledged stiletto pro, you’ll be finally be able to rock sky high heels. By that I mean, you’ll be able to have more than one glass of wine without having to worry about keeping your balance all night long. Chunky heels give stability, which comes in handy, while walking in 6 inch pumps can be, shall I say, uncomfortable?
Spiked Shoes
The punk rock look is back, but not in the same way as back in the 80s. Tastemakers and Trendsetters are stepping out in spiked and studded shoes and accessories paired with flashing neons and dainty florals. But is the mix match too much or are they onto something? Personally, I love the look. It might be a little much for an everyday thing (it’s just not me), but every once in a while, I love to step out with a funky, edgy style. Spikes and studs are a fun way to break away from your everyday go-to. Pair these fierce embellishments with lace to balance the look out and show how multifaceted your style–and your personality–can be. Rock on!!!!
