Wizkid was honoured with the African Artiste of the Year at Soundcity MVP awards 2016 which held on December 29 in Eko Hotels, Lagos.
‘Let me hear you yeah yeah. Thank you so much my fans, my team and Sunday Are (his manager),’ Wizkid said during his acceptance speech.
Wizkid also won Best Male Artiste ahead of Olamide, Phyno, Emtee, Falz, Diamond Platnumz and Patoranking.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ singer arrived Lagos for Christmas last week – the same period he was awarded Artiste of the Year at the 2016 Headies.
Starboy Entertaiment signee, Mr. Eazi also took home the Best New Artiste nod.
Other winners at the awards ceremony include, Yemi Alade, Falz, Kiss Daniel and Tekno who was the biggest winner on the night with three wins.
