A Lagos-based talent manager Franklin Amudo who will likely become a key witness in the Dbanj – Seyitan rape saga, has opened up for the first time since the matter became public.

Amudo, who worked with D’banj as his manager for over three years, and was the original occupant of the room the alleged rape occurred, says he’s suffered emotional, psychological and financial abuse because of the multiple interrogations he has had to endure since he was first invited by the IGP RT team to make a statement on the issue.
But that’s not all. In a statement he released on Monday, June 6, 2020, and an exclusive video interview he gave to Goldmyne, both obtained and examined by Nigerian Entertainment Today, Amudo provides credible background to the events of December 30, 2018.
He claims that D’banj was not lodged in Glee Hotel and that the artiste didn’t know what room he was lodged in. Amudo alleges that Seyitan called him early the next day to ask if he was aware that D’banj was coming to that room. She then told him that the singer had raped her. He adds that he didn’t pursue the matter because she had told him that wasn’t what she wanted.
‘She said she had left everything in God’s hands and made it clear that she was not interested in taking the matter to the public’, he says.
He adds that Seyitan only reached out to him again after she had gone public with the story, saying that D’Banj had no right to claim that he supports rape victims.
His statement reads, ‘Thereafter, I got a WhatsApp message from Seyitan saying that D’banj did not have the right to say “No To Rape” when he was culpable of such act, which was a reaction to a post that D’banj had made on Instagram about rape.’
He is the first third party to provide these details that legal experts say could swing the matter in an entirely different direction.
