Serena Williams has apologized to the family of the victim in the Steubenville, Ohio, rape case after the tennis star blamed the rape victim for putting herself in that kind of situation during a recent Rolling Stone interview. According to the family’s lawyer ‘Serena was very nice, very sincere and it was a very well-received conversation among two women and a young lady.’
Serena also apologized via a press statement on Wednesday. ‘What I supposedly said — is insensitive and hurtful, and I by no means would say or insinuate that she was at all to blame.’ The family accepted Serena’s apology and said they were ‘proud of her’.
