After several weeks of speculations, Senate President Bukola Saraki has finally announced his decision to dump the ruling party, APC.
Several lawmakers had defected to the Peoples Democratic Party a week ago, and speculations were rife that Saraki would follow suit.
The Kwara State native announced his decision Tuesday evening via his Twitter handle, writing: “I wish to inform Nigerians that, after extensive consultations, I have decided to take my leave of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

Saraki did not immediately announce his next political party, but it is believed he’ll be returning to PDP – a party he left four years ago.
