Kerry Washington on June 24, 2013 married a Nigerian born professional football player Nnamdi Asomugha, in Hailey, Idaho.
E! was first to report the nuptials by posting a copy of the couple’s marriage license online.
The 36-year-old actress and 31-year-old athlete had the latter’s parents serve as official witnesses with one of Asomugha’s relatives performing the ceremony.
Washington made her filming debut in the 2000 drama, Our Song, four years after her TV debut in the ABC Afterschool Special anthology series.
Asomugha born to Nigerian parents in Lafayette, Louisiana, is a cornerback with the San Francisco 49ers. He previously played for the Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles.
