
Emma Stone has won her first ever Screen Actors Guild Best Actress award.
The actress won the award for her role as Mia in La La Land at the 23rd ceremony that held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on January 29, 2017.
‘To be an actor playing an actor and receiving an actor by a guild of actors, it’s pretty exceptional,’ she said after picking up the award presented by her former Superbad co-star, Jonah Hill.
Emma Stone won the best actress award ahead of Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Natalie Portman, and Amy Adams.
‘The women in this category, really quickly, Meryl and Natalie and Amy and Emily, you guys inspire me beyond — I mean, you are just — you are the greatest and your talent and your intelligence are mind blowing.’

‘I was just going to say that I feel insecure a lot of the time. Genuinely. And you know, like, feeling like I could deserve anything like this requires a little bit of mental gymnastics for me.’
Emma Stone has won the SAG Outstanding Performance by a cast in a Motion Picture twice for The Help in 2012, and Birdman in 2012.
The La La Land actress is favourite to win at the Oscars next month, she will be going head-to-head with Meryl Streep and Natalie Portman for Best Actress award.
La La Land picked up a record of 14 nominations to bag the most Oscar nominations in history alongside Titanic and All About Eve.
The ceremony will hold on February 26, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
