The death of popular American sportscaster and ESPN anchor, Stuart Scott has been announced. He was pronounced dead after his long battle with cancer on Sunday, January 4, 2015.
Stuart gave up the battle in the early hours of Sunday, January 4, 2014 after having his appendix removed back in 2007 when he was first diagnosed with cancer but the disease returned with greater severity, eventually claiming the life of the influential broadcaster.
Regarded as one of the best sports journalists of his era on the electronic divide, Stuart joined ESPN2 at the network’s launch in 1993 as the host of SportsNight; he went on to work for ESPN as an anchor for Sports Center episodes as well as National Football League and National Basketball Association programming before his untimely death.
His death has been widely reported across the globe and has drawn solemn reactions and tributes from a number of sports stakeholders and sportsmen and women.
